On November 10, 2024, lecturers and students from the College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University, who participated in the short-term international study program in Yunnan Province organized by Sino-Thai Education, safely returned to Thailand.
This international exchange program was led by Mr. Dou Tiqian, President of the Alliance of International Chinese Language Model Schools in Thailand, and Ms. Benchamat Suksatit, Deputy Dean of the College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University, along with 20 members of the program, consisting of 10 lecturers and 10 university students.
During the 14-day period, the group visited Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang, visiting educational institutions at both the tertiary and vocational levels, and discussing various related fields with lecturers and students in China. They also learned about the Chinese language and culture, and experienced the cultural diversity of Yunnan Province.
On October 29, a group of students and lecturers from Chiang Mai University, who participated in the short-term international exchange program in Yunnan Province, visited and observed Yunnan Normal University.
The opening ceremony of the project was honored by Mr. Li Tianming, Deputy Dean of the School of Chinese Studies, Yunnan Normal University, and Mr. Dai Siyuan, a lecturer at the Chinese Teacher Training Promotion Base, who attended the opening ceremony. After that, the group participated in various activities, such as learning basic Chinese, learning tea culture, and singing Chinese songs, and experiencing university life.
On the morning of November 4, the group visited the College of International Studies, Dali University, and was welcomed by Mr. Fang Hui, Dean of the College of International Studies.
The people in charge of various matters were Mr. Zhu Zixin, Head of the Department of Graduate Chinese Studies, Mr. Tang Haoran, Head of the Department of Undergraduate Chinese Studies, Mr. Zhang Yue, in charge of the Administration Department, Mr. Yang Li, in charge of the Student Affairs Department, and Mr. Cao Juan, a lecturer at the College. The two sides exchanged and discussed issues such as digital innovation, international Chinese language education technology, and cultural inheritance. This meeting not only helped to enhance the educational concepts and practical experiences of both sides, but also provided opportunities for students to gain a broader international perspective. and opportunities for development in various aspects.
At noon on November 4, the group visited the Dali Bai Autonomous Region Finance and Trade Vocational College, where they were welcomed by executives and staff members, including Mr. Tong Xue, Secretary of the Communist Party of the College, Mr. Zhao Hong'er, Director of the Finance and Trade Vocational College, Mr. Zhang Zhen, Deputy Secretary of the Party of the College, Mr. Li Xinyun, and Mr. Yin Lin, lecturers of the Finance and Trade Vocational College. In addition, there was a friendship exchange activity between Thai and Chinese youth, with lecturers, students, and students from the Department of Digital Business Industry, Finance and Trade Vocational College, and students from Chiang Mai University participating in the activity to enhance the relationship and understanding between Thailand and China.
At the welcoming ceremony, Mr. Zhao Hong'er, Director of the Finance and Trade Vocational College, spoke about taking advantage of geographical advantages and developing based on a solid educational foundation and long-standing culture. The college has integrated China's "Belt and Road" strategy and developed Yunnan as a trade hub for South and Southeast Asia. Therefore, education in the college focuses on developing innovations in personnel training. In order to support the national strategy and industrial development, according to the implementation plan of the "China (Dali) Cross-border E-commerce Experimental Zone" issued by the Yunnan Provincial Government, it is necessary to accelerate the training of cross-border e-commerce personnel, expand international education exchanges and cooperation in various professional fields, and open up a new development path in vocational education. This exchange activity will help deepen the cultural and educational relations between China and Thailand, and promote contacts and cooperation with educational institutions in Thailand, by building a bridge of friendship and mutual cooperation, to drive the construction of a community of shared destiny between Thailand and China.
Asst. Prof. Benchamat Suksathit, Deputy Dean of the College of International Digital Innovation, CMU, said at the welcoming ceremony that this exchange aims to enhance the listening and speaking skills in Chinese of lecturers and students from Chiang Mai University under a Chinese-speaking environment, opening new perspectives in learning and developing the ability to use Chinese in communication, and further strengthening the cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and Thai educational institutions.

Mr. Dou Tiqian said that organizing this event will help enhance and upgrade the quality of Chinese language knowledge and skills of Chinese language learners in Thailand, expand opportunities for exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Thai youth, and promote exchanges and cooperation in education, culture, and other fields between the two countries.
